1. What is your research question about primitive flowers?

(1) Set your audience as college freshmen and high school seniors. If you use the glossary in your introduction, make sure to explain to assist in the understanding of your audience.
(2) Provide enough background to explain your topic thoroughly. For example, if the question is about “the growth habit of the primitive flowers,” you need to talk about relevant background issues. They could cover an introduction about growth habits, the meaning of primitive flowers, the importance of studying this question, and the methods that frequently used by scientists to consider this type of problem. Understanding this question can open the doors for us to understand what kind of essential issues. You can certainly be creative to include things that you think are important.

5. Write the current understanding of the topic. (2- 4 pages)
(1) You need to organize and present your study with a logic. For example, you could follow the timeline of the discovery or the two conflict ideas guarded by two camps of scientists.
(2) Summarize the common ground among the independent researchers.
(3) Distinguish the differences among the researches.
(4) Analyze the causes that lead them to the disagreement on the topic. The reasons could be different methods they used, or the sampling strategies, etc.

6. Write the future directions on studying the topic. (1 page)
(1) Identify the limitations of the current studies.
(2) Point out the new strategies that could be used to advance this research topic.
(3) Branch out to list more specific questions to be answered on this topic.
