Introduction:
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) collects, analyzes, and disseminates independent and impartial energy information to promote sound policymaking, efficient markets, and public understanding of energy and its interaction with the economy and the environment. This, along with US Department of Energy is one of the leading sources for reliable information regarding energy use in the United States. Like other areas of the environment, there is a lot of data collected on a daily basis regarding energy use. Pages and pages of spreadsheets with data which, at face value, are not easy to understand. It is very common to analyze this data and show the results of that analysis in a more visually appealing way (we have all seen graphs!).
