Topic 1
My first topic is why do some employers rather promote within the company and provide
on the job training in the medical administration department to employees without a degree
instead of hiring qualified individuals who have obtained a degree in Health Services
Administration so that they could be a great asset to the company? A lot of employers rather
promote within the company instead of hiring qualified graduates, because its much cheaper. A
new hirer would have to go through the hiring process which can be costly (drug test,
background check, orientation, and training). A college graduate who has completed their studies
and accumulated a large amount of debt to obtain a degree will have a salary amount in mind
when they begin their career journey. The audience that I am targeting will be management
because its imperative that graduates should be given the same opportunity as the employees
who are being promoted.
Topic 2
The second topic why is a State License required to become a Nursing Home
Administrator even if the person has received a degree in Health Services Administration? My
opinion, I feel that if the applicant has received their degree that focus pacifically on the
Healthcare Industry the license shouldn’t be a requirement from the state to become a Nursing
Home Administrator in the state of Florida because the required classes were fulfilled when the
degree was received. The audience that would be targeted is the State of Florida (AHCA) who
comes up with all the state laws to operate a nursing home in Florida.
Summary Paragraph
I am going to choose the first topic and argue why do some employers rather promote
within the company and provide on the job training in the medical administration department to
employees without a degree instead of hiring qualified individuals who have obtained a degree in
Health Services Administration. There are a lot of college graduates that are qualified for the
positions, but of course the employers rather save money and promote within the company
instead of given the same opportunity to graduates who are seeking employment in
the Healthcare Industry.
For this discussion, review the resources above, then compose two Introductions for your Researched Argumentative Essay. The introductions should demonstrate different approaches, using different words and phrasing. Only the thesis statement will remain similar. Then, in a third paragraph, share your thoughts about which introduction you are most likely to use and why.
